Our guest this episode is Mira Furth. After leaving a successful career as a senior Human Resources executive where she experienced firsthand how managers think about hiring, firing and lay-off decisions, Mira became a Life and Career Transition guide to help clients discover & embrace their talents.

We asked Mira to join us to talk about transitions as a time to repurpose and redefine our natural brand.

From the show:

 …there are two very different kinds of transitions:  one is what I call revolutionary transition and that is, for example, when you are fired, laid off.  It happens really quickly.  You don’t always feel that you had anything to do with it.  It is sudden.  You know you are in transition because, guess what, you are no longer on your job and you are not yet in your next one.  There is also what I call evolutionary transition, for example, having a child.  The moment the baby is born that is evolution.  You are no longer the same.  The father you grow into, that is the evolution.

…you have an experience where you’ve made your way to your next step.  You actually feel that you have expanded.  That is why I think it is such a fertile time.

Transitions are truly a family process.  I am saying process.  The vent is when the person lost the job.  The process is the whole period of time in between.  Everybody has their own experience, in other words, if it is the husband/father who lost the job, the whole family will be effected by that.  There is so many elements that I could talk to and I am going to mention two…
